Praise the Lord! He has everything in place for an awesome event on May 24th at Grace Reformed Church in Lansing IL. The youth pastor Joe Greenwald and I met yesterday to review the events layout and flow. Joe has a real heart for the community and for the local youth. I know that the Lord sent Joe to us for that very reason. When I hear Joe say, "Jerome, I want a revival in our church and the local community." It fills me with joy because that's the "Vision" of 3.1 Ministries, to impact our local community for the Jesus.

Tonight was our Inner City Christian ministries event. Boy! Satan tried to keep me from going. I do the sound production and 3.1 Ministries supports the ICCM by contributing clothing. We had put together, with the donations of others, about 10 big bags of wonderful winter clothes for the homeless people, kids clothes too. But get this...My 1994 BMW decided to quit on me at the mall on Friday while CHRISTmas shopping, so my sister offered me her 3rd vehicle that hasn't been driven in while and it needed a battery to start. How nice is that for God to provide a vehicle. It will get me a round for a couple of days until my car is ready. So I picked up a battery and the car started just fine, but I noticed that the gas was on empty. Great... Now its like 30 minutes until I have to be in the city...I went directly to the gas station and it ran out of gas on the way, yep, it did. I was on a super busy street too. I pushed it off the road and prayed. Lord, you know how much the ICCM needs me tonight for the sound and the clothing we have to give, and you know how much I want to serve the homeless people, please fill these gas lines in this car and help me get to the gas station. Well, it somehow started after many, many tries... and of course, right when I got on the street it stopped again, but it started briefly and i made it, coasting, into the gas station, whewww! But wait...I left the station and just before I got on the highway it started dyeing out. Then I had to make a decision...A hard one to make, but had to just try to get back home. Well...It stalled at least a dozen times heading back, but I made it home somehow. (God of course). Now what... my girlfriend called and she offered to go with me downtown to the event and to pick me up. We transferred all the bags of clothes and we arrived to the event about an hour late. And believe it or not, right when i walked up to the sound board the event started. YES!

The homeless people also were so happy because the clothes we brought were exactly the types of clothing they needed; winter baby clothes and ski jackets and so on. It was such a blessing to a part of serving them.

All I can say is this "Satan" you lose again. Jesus gets another victory. PTL! Thank you Lord for making the impossible, possible.

I left out some other details that added to amazing turn of events. Only God could have made this happen. This is definitely a chapter in my book. ;-) LOL

Praise the Lord!!! Praise the Lord! We had over 700 people tonight that attended the ICCM (Inner City Christian Ministries) thanksgiving dinner and event. My dear friend Chris and Monica DeLaurentis are the pastors of the Chicago City Church. www.iccmonline.com (ICCM)

I would say about a 1/4 to a 1/3 of the people there came forward to accept Christ as their personal savior! PTL! These wonderful people are mainly homeless, drug addicts and even some prostitutes living in the poorest part of Chicago (Englewood District).

Q: How does 3.1 Ministries serve at the ICCM?

A: 3.1 Ministries participates at these events by providing sound production services, scheduling musicians to perform at their events, praying for the children and with the homeless, we provide clothing and sometimes speak there also. In the near future we will help them develop their website and eventually support them financially. Please pray for Chris and Monica. Hello my friend! At church tonight we talked about "service" or serving others. That’s really what ministry is all about anyway. Pastor Jeff Kline our teaching pastor did the service tonight at Faith Church (www.faithchurchonline.org). That’s where I'm a member.

He started the service by asking "what is the greatest act of service you have ever done OR had done for you?"

There are six qualities of a servant:

1) Servants have authority
- How do you lead a group of people? You serve them, then you get authority.
2) Servants take directions from the master:
- God is the master - Are you ready to follow Him wherever He wants you to go?
3) Servants turn to God for help:
- 1 Peter 4:11 - If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
- If you did it with the power of God...He gets the credit!
4) Go without knowing the outcome of the journey:
5) Servants give God the glory for their success
- Colossians 3:23-24 - 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
6) Servants offer true service:
-How will you serve today.

Hello my friend... Thank you for stopping by. :)

I have been very surprised the way you can reach out and connect with others on myspace.com...I created a page for the 3.1 Ministries and for 3.1 music...There have been so many who have asked for prayer and/or just needed to talk to someone. And I was surprised to hear so many say that they can sense God in my music. Yes, it is all inspired by God. But, to hear that from other people is pretty neat.

I enjoy praying with people online by sending them an email of IM prayer. It’s just another way to serve our king.

Today the mission team, at my church, is meeting to talk about supporting 3.1 Ministries financially so we can work full-time on our ministry work. They are actually considering making me a missionary of the church. My home church is called Faith Church in Dyer IN... [www.faithchurchonline.org]

Today is my first day with live journal. I hope that this will help me better organize my thoughts and experiences.

Last night was my 4th Dunamis class at Faith Church in Dyer IN. An in-depth study of living and moving in the Dunamis (power) of the Holy Spirit. Its been a great learning experience so far.

Prayer request: Today my church meets regarding my ministry work. They are going to discuss making me a missionary of the church. Based upon my vocation to the God. Prayer: God I pray for your will in the decision the church will make with regards to supporting my financial needs to work in full-time ministry. You know my heart and my desire to serve you. Amen.
